Functional Crosstrek Hood Vents

These aren't decorative stick-on vents. Installation creates functional openings in the hood that allow hot engine-bay air to escape through the louvers.

This can be particularly useful for Crosstreks used in demanding conditions or equipped with modifications that can affect airflow around the engine bay, such as skid plates, larger tires, aftermarket bumpers or winches.

Very good quality and can’t wait to mount them

Great quality

I used these for a V8 Miata build. Couldn't use most of the standard Miata louver designs because of tight clearances in the engine bay.... needed thin long louvers and these were perfect. Included templates were easy to use and made installation pretty simple, and the louvers themselves are great quality. Given the opportunity, will buy from Spiked again!

The louvers work well to lower engine temperatures

I recently installed a pair of louvers for my 2015 Crosstrek. I purchased them because I had previously installed a full set of skid plates, F44 bumper with winch along with larger tires and was concerned that the engine oil and coolant temperatures seemed to be adversely affected by the mods and resulted what seemed to higher than normal temperatures under load.
The installation seems to work by lowering the engine compartment temperature which also lowered the engine oil and coolant temperature to a normal level although, I’m a bit concerned that in order to install it, I had to cut a large portion of the hood support structure.
I like the look of the hood louvers and am very happy with the engine cooling improvements but, I’m concerned some about the hood structural integrity.
I gave the product 4 stars because I like the look and result of the installation but am concerned about long term effects from removing the structural integrity and lack of instructions. It would be beneficial to have some detailed instructions or a video to show the correct installation to help with the installation process.
